BBF IDP CAMP COMMUNITY OUTREACH

On September 6th, 2024, the Brain and Body Foundation conducted a highly impactful community clinic at the Area 1 IDP Camp, Durunmi, FCT Abuja. The clinic aimed to provide much-needed healthcare support to internally displaced persons (IDPs) suffering from various health conditions.

Number of Patients and Conditions

The clinic saw a total of 88 children, all presenting with diverse medical needs. The primary conditions addressed during the outreach included:

  • Sickle cell disease

  • Cerebral palsy

  • Down syndrome

  • Seizures

  • Other brain-related disorders

The patients were attended to by a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, volunteers, and medical support staff, who ensured each case was carefully evaluated and provided with the necessary supplements and care.

As the Brain and Body Foundation continues its mission to provide essential care for individuals with sickle cell disease and other brain-related conditions, the foundation has set a fundraising goal of 30 million Naira ($39,000 USD).

This amount will enable the continued provision of medication, supplements, and medical support for these vulnerable populations. The funds raised will also help expand future outreach programs, ensuring that no one is left without the care they need.
