Maidunama Sickle Cell Foundation (MAISCEF), established by Rabi Maidunama, focuses primarily on advocacy and aiding children with SCD. Additionally, the organisation distributes free drugs, including anti-malaria’s, and free genetic testing to help individuals become more aware.

To raise awareness of SCD, MAISCEF runs a variety of advocacy and sensitization programmes. In addition to offering counselling services, MAISCEF makes outpatient hospital visits to assist needy in-patients in paying for their medical bills. This effort is specifically carried out to educate and train local healthcare providers. A free genotyping test is occasionally made available to the public by MAISCEF so they can learn their genotype and aid in illness prevention.

Brain and Body Foundation is partnering with Maidunama Sickle Cell Foundation, which operates centres in Kano, Ibadan, Kaduna, and Nasarawa.

On August 1st, 2023, Maidunama Sickle Cell Foundation received 730 bottles of CITAMIL and begun distribution.

On August 20, 2023, the co-ordinator of MAISCEF Plateau state, Nigeria, Nafsat Bello confirms receiving 100 bottles of CITAMIL from Brain and Body Foundation.
