Among them were 84 children living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and 66 children with various Neurological Disorders.
The day was filled with inspiring stories of improvement, hope, and transformation. Many of the children who have been attending our clinics regularly showed remarkable progress in their physical and mental health.
Progress and Improvements
Children with Sickle Cell Disease (84 Patients)
Several children with Sickle Cell Disease reported fewer pain crises and better energy levels. Parents mentioned that their children now sleep better, eat more, and are more active in school and at home. Many have gone weeks or even months without hospitalization — a major breakthrough for families who used to live in constant fear of health crises.
Children with Neurological Disorders (66 Patients)
Our team also attended to 66 children with neurological challenges such as delayed speech, motor issues, and developmental delays. Parents shared encouraging feedback about better movement, improved focus, and calmer behavior. Some children who previously couldn’t walk or respond properly now show greater coordination and awareness.
Highlight: Dr. Ekam Ethel’s Visit
We were honored to welcome Dr. Ekam Ethel, Assistant Director and Head of NGO Coordination Unit, Federal Ministry of Health, as a guest during the clinic.
Dr. Ethel worked closely with our team to assess patients, provide expert recommendations, and engage parents in one-on-one counseling sessions. Her visit brought renewed hope to families as she emphasized the importance of continuous care, proper nutrition, and adherence to the Foundation’s therapy plan. Her professional insight and compassionate approach made a lasting impact, further strengthening the government’s commitment to helping children live healthy, active lives despite health challenges.
